During February, it’s not uncommon to hear the refrain, “If there’s an African-American History Month, why isn’t there a white one?” from Trump supporters.

Trump supporters have expressed anger with the annual Black History Month tradition and demand an equivalent White History Month for white Americans who feel left out.

But it’s also the kind of idea you might hear from members of the self-described “alt-right” and groups with closely related beliefs: white nationalists and white supremacists.

“It’s not right and it’s not fair that black people get a month all to themselves when whites are left forgotten for now.”

“All months should be available to everyone regardless of skin color.”

Black History Month does not take anything away from white people. It doesn’t mean white people aren’t special.

However, GOP believe that giving whites all the other months in the year would go a long way towards leveling the playing field.
