Selena Gomez has shared the first teaser clip for her highly anticipateda new Netflix series called 13 Reasons Why on Instagram. “A peek at a passion project I’ve been working on,” she wrote on Instagram.
The 13 episode series, based off of the worldwide prevalent book of the same name by Jay Asher, takes after a kid named Clay on an enthusiastic voyage after he gets a case loaded with tapes from his crash, Hannah, who recently committed suicide. The tapes are Hannah disclosing to twelve companions how they each assumed a part in her choice to take her own life.
Selena was touched by the book when she read it back in 2011 that she was dedicated to bring it to the screen. Now she can be proud and say she made it happen, as she’s a producer of the series.
Selena Gomez does not appear in the series, instead the cast includes upcoming stars Dylan Minnette, Katherine Langford, Brandon Flynn, Christian Navarro, Alisha Boe, Michelle Selene Ang, Justin Prentice and Devin Druid. It’s scheduled to premiere on Netflix on March 31, 2017.
“This was the day I was nervous as hell going into @Netflix for the first time to talk about @13reasonswhy -my mom found this book in 2009 and worked her ass off to make it with me, guide me and tell this story authentically (the only reason, beside Jay this project was even made).” – Selena wrote on Instagram.
