With the UK looking to shape their post-Brexit trade deals, Prime Minister Theresa May figured a trade deal with the United States would be easy.

However, Trump is threatening to withhold a vital post-Brexit trade deal with the UK if he doesn’t receive an invitation to Prince Harry’s wedding to actress Meghan Markle.

According to Michael Wolff, President Trump is willing to sabotage his relationship with May if he doesn’t get what he wants.

It’s unlikely that Trump will be invited to the Royal Wedding. Prince Harry supposedly told aides that he wants to invite Barack and Michelle Obama.

“He doesn’t like being snubbed and wants to be the centre of attention all the time,” Wolff said to the Mail on Sunday. “Trump’s foreign policy doctrine is simple: you Brits suck up to him and enlist in whatever geopolitical fantasy he has going, he’ll give you what you want – though only if it doesn’t hurt him.

“It is not so much vengeance, rather, ‘you flatter me and I’ll flatter you.’”

Though Trump has accepted an invitation for a state visit, none have been scheduled yet due to political tensions. The UK public do not want Trump to set foot in Britain as millions of anti-Trump protesters are expected to pour onto the streets of London.

The author of Fire and Fury worries that Trump would abuse a state visit because Trump “sees the Queen in reality TV show terms. That’s the Trump modus operandi. He will try to Trumpalise the Queen and Buckingham Palace.”

If Trump doesn’t get an invitation to the Royal Wedding, then any state visit would be off the table. UK Prime Minister would have to revoke it because Trump would probably retaliate for the “snub” in front of the Queen of England.
